So… you just had a baby? First of all — congratulations. If you’re reading this with one eye open and a burp cloth on your shoulder, you’re in the right place.
If you’re currently looking for a Raleigh newborn photographer, you can find full session details, portfolio examples, and booking information on my main Raleigh newborn photography
This guide will walk you through what to expect during your session and how to prepare so everything feels relaxed, natural, and completely stress-free.
The newborn stage passes in a blur of feeding schedules and very little sleep. Professional photography captures the tiny details you’ll miss in the moment — flaky toes, wispy hair, and those sleepy stretches.
A thoughtfully planned newborn session combines lighting, timing, safety, and patience to create timeless portraits your family will treasure for decades.
You can see examples of real sessions on my

There’s no rushing here. We take time to get baby settled and comfortable.
Sessions last about 2–3 hours because we allow time for feeding, soothing, and natural transitions. Everything is paced around your baby’s comfort.
Parents and siblings are always welcome to join in. These connection shots often become favorites.

When should I schedule my newborn session?
Most sessions take place within the first 10–14 days after birth when babies are sleepiest.
What if my baby cries?
That’s completely normal. Breaks are built into every session.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely. Family images are always encouraged.
